Show Notes

It’s been a long road since this podcast has started and it’s been months since any sport has been played. The NBA started their scrimmages on July 22nd and from the looks of it, life in the NBA Bubble seems like a fun time. On July 23rd, the New York Yankees visited the Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants. The NHL should be coming back next week as they will only play in Canada. The NFL is gathering itself as players want to know how to deal with health and safety protocols. Over the past weekend star players such as JJ Watt and Russel Wilson voiced their displeasure when it came to the preparation and protocol the NFL has shown when it comes to dealing with the CoronaVirus. Training camp is slated to return July 28th, but seeing how there is a lack of preparation on behalf of the NFL, few would be surprised to see the Training Camp start date get delayed. For Major League Baseball it’s interesting. Divisions will be matched up for 60 games against their divisions whether it’s American League or the National League. It’ll be different watching 30 man rosters and an extra 30 men who’ll be right behind ready and waiting. One of the most recent interesting moves to happen in MLB is Mookie Betts signing a 13-year contract extension with the Dodgers, The NBA will be fun to watch when the Regular Season returns next week. Questions remain as we see if Kawhi Leanord will still have, “load management?” Also, how will Lebron and the Lakers continue to dominate? Will we see Giannis lead the Bucks to the Finals? All those will be huge questions with the Association scheduled to come back. The NHL is slated to return on August 1 and will be going straight to the playoffs with 24 teams. Will the Bruins try to avenge their Stanley Cup Finals loss from last year? Will the Blues repeat as champions? It’s going to be interesting to watch as they get ready. Mark and Jair hope you all take the right amount of protective measures in order to remain safe throughout the circumstances we face today. We are sad to see a spike of COVID-19 cases rising again. Please be sure to wear masks and use protection at all times. Stay tuned for more episodes of Mark and Jair Explain Sports.
